Payton Howie is an emerging artist in the Nashville scene. She is not a new artist however. Payton has been performing since she was five years old. I was fortunate enough to talk with Payton the day her single “Freedom” dropped on SoundCloud. Payton believe that being an American is a great thing and those who defend our freedoms should not be forgotten.
This was different for me because usually all you see on the news are the people who don’t like America. Payton wanted to be unapologetic that she and her fans appreciate in the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave.
Payton seems to think she can convert me to country. We will see how that goes;) I did enjoy the video of “Freedom” you can click here (https://youtu.be/l87U6eKMXns) to watch it on YouTube. The video dropped on Memorial Day which I thought was fitting.
Thanks for talking with me Payton. All the best for your goals in 2021! Go to www.paytonhowie.com to learn more!

Tarrish Potter was first on Oscar Mike Radio a month ago. We met through her support of the 2021 Tennessee Veterans Launch Event.
It was at The Boondox that Tarrish first performed the song Unknown Soldier she wrote with her mother. It was surprise at the end of her set and the whole crowd got quiet when Tarrish told us the story about how this song came to be. She has some new music she will be performing at the Hearts for Warriors Event February 12th 2021 at The Boondox in Columbia, TN.
Additionally Tarrish is working on a new EP and a music video abouit Luke Bryan that will all be in motion this year. Does anyone know who Luke Bryan is????? 😉
Thank you for talking with me Tarrish.
You can find out more about Tarrish by going to www.tarrishpotter.com.

I met Michelle Baxter at the 2020 Irreverent Warriors Benefit held at The Boondox in Columbia, TN. Michelle is the Director of Booking for MC1 Nashville and Road Katz Agency. She has done a lot of work with Veterans who are transitioning into musicians. Chris Turner is an example of such an artist.
Michelle has been working hard to coordinate the Hearts for Warriors event on February 12th, 2021. This event is being held at The Boondox in Columbia, TN. All proceeds are going to benefit Veterans Artists. There will be BBQ being sponsored by JJs BBQ of Columbia, TN as well as raffles and other prizes! This is a great way to see artists up close and personal while having a great time.
I want to thank Michelle for coming on to talk with me. Danielle Rocco and I am looking forward to seeing this be another successful event!

Sean started his outreach in 2016 where he would give out guitars to Veterans after taking 60 – 90 minutes to show us the basics. I had come to the cookout and I was encouraged to give it a try. I had never really taken to the guitar. My background was piano and when I tried playing bass or guitar, I would get frustrated and put the bass away and wouldn’t even think about trying the guitar
So it was cool to be sitting there with other Veterans just learning the basics with someone who wanted to share their love of music with us. I was hooked, and the other Veterans had a great time as well.
I talked with Sean later and said that I don’t know what the future holds, but I hope to really do something with this. Music is a gift and has so many benefits to everyone. Thanks Sean, I am looking forward to learning more.
