Erica Whitney’s Nashville Benefit Concert Supports Brother’s Keeper Veterans Foundation

Music has a way of bringing people together. When that music supports the men and women who have served our country, it becomes something even more meaningful.

In this Oscar Mike Radio Special, I sat down with Nashville singer-songwriter Erica Whitney to discuss her passion for music, her family’s military history, and an upcoming charity showcase supporting Brother’s Keeper Veterans Foundation.

Erica’s connection to the military community is personal. Her family’s service inspired her to give back to veterans, and she’s using something she loves —music- to make a difference.

Nashville Charity Showcase for Veterans — October 14

Erica is bringing together music and veteran advocacy for a special benefit showcase in Nashville, Tennessee.

The event will feature Erica Whitney alongside Brooks Herring, a combat veteran and songwriter, for an evening of live music supporting Brother’s Keeper Veterans Foundation.

Why Erica Whitney Supports Veterans

During our conversation, Erica explained how her family’s military service influenced her desire to support the veteran community.

We talked about the importance of organizations like Brother’s Keeper Veterans Foundation, whose mission includes providing ongoing assistance to veterans.

One thing I appreciate about this mission is the recognition that veterans’ needs don’t always end after a single appointment, program, or moment of assistance.

Sometimes support needs to continue as long as it’s needed.

That kind of commitment matters.

Music Is More Than a Career

Erica also shared what music means to her personally. We discussed the excitement and nervous energy that come with performing live, the connection between an artist and an audience, and why music remains such an important part of her life. When I asked whether any amount of money could persuade her to walk away from music, her answer was clear.

There isn’t an amount big enough. For Erica, music isn’t simply a business or career opportunity. It’s part of who she is. And now she’s using that passion to help veterans.

Brooks Herring: A Combat Veteran and Songwriter

Another important part of this benefit is the participation of Brooks Herring.

As a combat veteran and songwriter, Brooks brings his own military experience and creative perspective to the showcase.

His participation helps connect the purpose of the evening with the veteran community the event is designed to support.

It’s an opportunity for music, military service, and community involvement to come together for a common mission.

Supporting Brother’s Keeper Veterans Foundation

The mission behind this event is what makes it important.

Brother’s Keeper Veterans Foundation works to support veterans, including those who may need assistance beyond an immediate crisis or short-term challenge.

Events like Erica’s charity showcase help bring attention to that work while giving the public an opportunity to participate.

You don’t have to wear a uniform to support those who have.

Sometimes that support begins with buying a ticket, attending an event, sharing information, or introducing someone to an organization that can help.

Join the Mission in Nashville

If you’re in Nashville on Wednesday, October 14, I encourage you to consider attending Erica Whitney’s charity showcase at HOME.

Doors open at 6:15 PM, and the evening will feature music from Erica and Brooks Herring in support of Brother’s Keeper Veterans Foundation.

Erica, thank you for joining me on Oscar Mike Radio, sharing your passion for music, and using your talents to support veterans.

Thank you as well to Brooks Herring and everyone involved in making this benefit possible.

Music brings people together. Supporting veterans gives that connection a mission.
