Catherine Walker’s husband had her killed by his lover in 2014. He wanted the $400,000.00 in insurance money. 6 years later justice was served. I can’t get over how Catherine was able to forgive her murderer before being killed.
Jody Podcasts are made to demonstrate the turmoil infidelity in the military cause for servicemember, their children and families. I like to make fun of Valentines Day, but in a way Catherine had love in her heart. How Catherine was able to do that has stayed with me. Her story is an example to me, and reminds me that infidelity is never a victimless crime.

I talked about Jody in 2018 a lot. In the military Jody is the guy who is with your wife or girlfriend while you are deployed. My series about this is to raise awareness about infidelity and the harmful after effects to men and military servicemembers.
One of the statements made to me about this series was I used hearsay and anecdotal evidence to produce these podcasts. That is simply not the case. Every podcast link you can follow below is based on fact and substantiated stories that actually happened. This is important to note. It is easy to chuckle or laugh when you hear about this kind of situation. It is not funny.
When something like this happens in the military, the effects are felt outside the spouse/significant other involved. Dealing with divorce and the family court system can have a negative impact on unit cohesion.
In 2019, I am going to look at more data for how divorce affects the servicemember. Also there are stories that prove the old saying that, “Truth is stranger than fiction.”
The most important thing to remember is that this storm in your life will pass. If you surround yourself with great people, form a good plan, and follow it, you can rebuild yourself. This series is really about living your best life even if Jody is not going away.

What did I did I do for New Years? I did nothing exciting which was great! I worked on the blanket I am making for a friend with cancer. This was also a year I was happy to do Dad’s Taxi. A service which beats Uber and LYFT. I finished podcast 128 for Mugzy Brady, and just hung out. It was a fantastic New Year’s Eve!
“The military divorce rate is calculated by comparing the number of troops listed as married in the Pentagon’s personnel system at the beginning of the fiscal year with the number who report divorces over the year. The information is managed and compiled by the Defense Manpower Data Center.” (Military.com article by Amy Bushatz ). Interesting viewpoint on divorce among female servicemembers. It would appear that female Marines have a hard time. I believe there are a couple reasons for that, but I don’t blame the Marine Corps.

I got asked if I am watching the NFL this year. I said no. I don’t even have cable anymore. In a complete reverse, I do not have a fantasy football team either. I don’t miss it, and I am not sure if NFL football could ever get me back now. I am looking forward to hockey season since the Royals were rebuilding this year.
I do have a friend of mine who is a die hard Redskins fan. He asked me about it and said why don’t you watch the Thanksgiving game and see how you feel. He understands my positions and while he may not agree with it, he respects where I am coming from. I am thinking I will meet him half way. Hail to the Redskins, Hail to the Chief.

Jody Part 6: Reverse Jody
I wanted to do this part 6 and make the case for a different kind of Jody. What if Jody is a fellow servicemember who has an affair with your wife or husband? What would happen then? How is a situation like this treated in the military? I talked about two stories that demonstrated what can happen.
I talk about Ist Sgt Usher who was labled a “Horny Bastard”. Army Times Story about Horny Ist Sgt . While married he had an affair with a Private First Class under his command. He was outed when he was filmed on a cell phone camera making out in public with this PFC. Both were punished although it is unclear the severity of the censure. His career is effectively over.
Not to be outdone by the Army, the Marine Corps had a similar problem come to light. Corporal Remedios Cruz, one of the first female infantry Marines, was kicked out for fraternization. Task and Purpose Article about Female Marine .
Both servicemembers committed adultery with people who they served with during active service. What is it like for a spouse who is faithful to find something like this out? I can’t imagine, but these stories would suggest that Jody is everywhere.

This is a true story about how low a wife and Jody can go. However, the real story that is still unfolding is about baby Leo. Leo is the result of a wife’s hookup with a Jody. In this case, the now ex – wife went to a new level of dirt bag low.
Marina Garcia was married to Steven Garcia. He is a Sgt in the Army doing military police work. While deployed to Seoul, Korea he found out he was going to be a father.
Marina delivered the baby in January 2018. She told him that his daughter died during childbirth. 10,000 miles away from home, Steven was devastated…… But, it was all a lie.
Marina was pregnant, Marina had a baby…, but it was a baby boy, not a girl. Also, it was not Steven’s child. As of this podcast and the Washington Post article, Marina could not or would not identify the father. The mother of this child tried to forge documents that would transfer this baby to a couple from Texas. During a routine traffic stop, the police started asking questions and realized something was wrong.
The investigation revealed that Marina was living with an Army Specialist while her husband was deployed overseas. Also, once Steven was made aware of the situation, a paternity test revealed that he was NOT the father.
The only silver lining is that Leo, who is in foster care, may have someone to fight for him. Steven Garcia is filing paperwork to adopt Leo. Steven was adopted and feels that he can give Leo a life he would not have in foster care. My personal feelings aside, I have nothing but respect for Sgt Garcia. My message to him would be that I support his choice and that he is a true hero. Thank you
As for Marina, I believe her fate is still being decided in the court system. It would be my desire to see an example made of her for doing this to a baby and her husband. Jody is real folks, and how messed up is it that this Army Specialist was living with another man’s wife while she was pregnant and married. This guy is a true blue falcon. I don’t think this could be made up…..
